This is an install in a 2017 F Pace Jaguar.
Some American Market F Pace’s have a Electric Trailer Brake harness pre wired that runs up to the left hand side kick panel. I have yet to see this in a NZ F Pace. So wiring must be run to the 12 pin plug from the cabin.
The use of the REDARC TPWkit-014 makes this install very easy and should take about 90 minutes for a professional.
The control head is easily mounted with a 10mm hole to the left of the steering column.
The main brain of the REDARC is mounted securely in the RHS kick panel and is earthed at one of the bolts below .
Remove all the trim panels and run the power feed and the brake output and input wires together to the rear of the car.
The power supply can be connected to the power distribution block on the battery.
Run the Brake output/input wires ( blue, red and orange) through the grommet that feeds the 12 pin plug ( and tail lights?).
This stage of wiring can be done inside the 12 pin trailer plug or outside of it.
Cut the factory blue( trailer brake ) wire and solder the REDARC blue wire so it feeds INTO the 12 pin plug.
Cut the factory red (trailer brake light) wire and solder the REDARC red wire so it feeds into the 12 pin plug and
Solder the REDARC orange wire so it feeds FROM the factor red wire
Cable tie any excess wiring up .
