We have done dozens of these for Ranger trailer brake controller installations all around Auckland.
The Ford Ranger and Everest are pretty straight forward. But understand that AFAIK the REDARC Tow Pro Elite is the only Ford approved brake controller for the Ranger ( what ever that means).
If the Ranger or Everest has Automated Emergency Braking or you have limited tools/experience use the TPWkit-012 for the REDARC Tow Pro Brake controller..
Otherwise you can make up your own loom. If you do this you will need to pick up the brake light signal from the brake pedal for a REDARC install as to not fool the car into thinking there is a trailer permanently connected. For Tekonsha you can pick it up at the trailer plug.
There is a grommet behind the glove box to run the power cable to the battery and another grommet behind the rear seat on the left hand side to run the blue trailer brake control wire. Or another grommet under the passenger front seat.

12 pin trailer plug on the Ranger with wiring for the AL-KO Sensabrake system. The factory pink wire supplies constant 12 volt for other trailer accessories.
