The new Ford F150’s come with an awesome tow package that allows you to adjust many variables via the vehicles sync system. You can add multiple trailers and name them, select their size and choose between override, electric or electric over hydraulic!
Here we have a F150 towing a race car trailer. Originally the trailer had a Trojan Brake Commander brake actuator but after a few years of service this failed and is no longer supported by Trojan. So we swapped it out for a Dexter 1600psi trailer brake actuator and run it off the factor F150 brake controller. The breakaway switch is powered by the trailers “house” battery that runs the interior lights and internal winch for winching the cars on to the trailer.
